Australia visa authorities planning to decrease the visa fee

Those students who are planning to apply to Australian visa have a reason to smile. The Australian visa authorities is expected to decrease the visa fees, however the other Australian fees are set to increase. Overseas students are now facing lower Australian visa application fee as Australian visas for students are set to be discounted by 5% from next year. However, these same overseas students may be stung with some other fee increase as other immigration to Australia charges affecting international education is also set to increase.

According to the Immigration minister Chris Bowen, this initiative has been taken to increase the competitiveness of Australia's international education sector. This drop of Australian visa fee is made to increase the number of applications from international students.

Presently, the application fee for the student visa for Australia is at $ 565 but with this present drop in the fee which will be implemented next year, it will reduced to $ 353.

However, along with this new deduction in the student visa fee, new fees for dependents and higher fee for Australian skilled visa application were set. These new fees are increase costs that may be increased by overseas students.

Presently, in Australia dependents who come out with a student have no visa application charge. The cost for a range of skill and business visas is also set to increase by between five per cent and 15 per cent. The 485 temporary skilled graduate visa is set to be at $315 from $270.
